International Education Institute holds symposium on high-quality development

To deepen international exchanges and cooperation and elevate the college's internationalization level to a new stage, the International Education College held a high-quality development symposium on December 12,2025. Representatives from the college leadership team, Graduate School, School of Public Health, School of Nursing, School of Stomatology, School of Rehabilitation, Department of Biology, the Affiliated Central Hospital of the Basic Medical College, the Teaching Quality Development Center, School of Public Foreign Languages, and the Department of Teaching, Research, and Physical Education attended the meeting. The symposium was chaired by Dean Tian Haijun.

Tian Haijun introduced the development and challenges of the college in recent years in terms of international exchanges, international student education, and faculty development, and hoped that the participants would offer suggestions for the school's internationalization.

At the meeting, participants proposed forward-looking and actionable suggestions from multiple perspectives: First, to collaborate with internationally accredited foreign universities for joint training programs, aiming to build a distinctive brand of Sino-foreign cooperative education that offers unique advantages. Second, to continuously optimize the training programs for international students with a focus on talent development, explore graduate education for international students, and establish overseas internship bases. Third, to strengthen the faculty team by expanding the teaching team for Chinese and less commonly taught languages, and broaden channels for bilingual teaching training. Fourth, to highlight the unique features of majors in the recruitment and promotion of international students, and continuously expand the range of majors available for enrollment. Fifth, to continue organizing international students to participate in local volunteer services, enhancing their sense of social integration in China. Sixth, to broaden the horizons of domestic students through international exchanges and build platforms for overseas further studies.

Tian Haijun concluded by emphasizing that participants at this symposium had pooled their wisdom to jointly strategize for the development of the International Education College during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. The college will subsequently integrate these suggestions and recommendations to systematically advance all tasks related to international education, thereby contributing to the establishment of the university as a medical institution through the efforts of the International Education College.
