Brief Introduction

Founded  in  1949, Shenyang  Medical  College  is  a  full-time  ordinary  higher education   institution   with   multiple   disciplines, levels, and   forms   of   education, mainly focusing on medicine, which is approved by the Ministry of Education of the P.R.China. Currently, there are 3 directly  affiliated  hospitals, 12  non-affiliated  hospitals, 35  teaching  hospitals, 102 internship hospitals and practical teaching bases, and 1 directly affiliated health school.

We offer 28 undergraduate programs in MEDICINE, SCIENCE, MANAGEMENT, and EGINEERING，master programs in Basic Medicine, Public Health&Preventive Medicine, and Biology, as well as in Clinical Medicine, Public Health, Stomatology (Dentistry), Nursing, and Biology, Medicine &Pharmacy .

In 2004, with the approval of the Educational Department of Liaoning Province  and the filing with the national Ministry of Education, the school became one of the first institutions and universities in Liaoning Province to recruit self-sponsored international students to China. More than 2,300 international students from 64 countries, including Nepal, India, Pakistan, Ghana and Nigeria have been studying on campus till now. 73.2% of the 15 batches international graduates have passed their national medical examinations. In 2021, our school was awarded as an “Advanced Unit for International Student Education in Liaoning Province”, and in 2023, it was approved as a “Pilot Institution for Internationalization Evaluation of Higher Education in Liaoning Province”.

School has established friendly cooperative relations with over 20 scientific research institutions and universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, and other countries. Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the P.R. China, ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the P.R. China, officials from Medical Council of Zambia, Medical Council of Ghana, Medical Council of Nigeria and Free State of South African have visited the school successively.

Requirements for Application

Basic Requirements

Applications are open to foreign citizens with reliable financial support and stability and in good situation of health. Applicants should have no record of violation of discipline, punishment for public security, and conduction of criminal. Applicants should hold friendly attitude towards China and have good conduct. They should also comply with Chinese laws and university regulations, and respect Chinese culture and traditions.

In addition to meeting the first set of enrollment eligibility criteria mentioned above, international students who were once Chinese citizens and have immigrated to a foreign country should hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for 4 or more years, and have a record proving that the applicants have stayed abroad for more than 2 years during the last 4 years (staying abroad for over 9 months in a year will be counted as one year and calculation of the duration of stay will be based on the entry and exit stamps ).

In addition to meeting the first set of enrollment eligibility criteria mentioned above, international students whose either or both parents are Chinese citizens residing abroad, who have acquired foreign nationality at birth and do not hold Chinese nationality, as well as residents from Mainland China (the inland regions), Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who have emigrated and obtained foreign nationality should hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for 4 or more years, and have a record proving that the applicants have stayed abroad for more than 2 years during the last 4 years (staying abroad for over 9 months in a year will be counted as one year and calculation of the duration of stay will be based on the entry and exit stamps ).

Requirement of Language Proficiency

By the end of the first year of study, students should achieve a Level 4 proficiency in the HSK.

Other Requirements

Aged between 16-30 years old, exceptionally qualified students may be granted age exemption up to 35 years old.

When applicants under the age of 18 submit their applications, they are required to provide documentation of their guardian in China.

Educational Background: Formal high school diploma or equivalent education level or above.

Having majored in physics, chemistry, and biology during high school, with grades at or above the passing level.

2. Living expenses are approximately RMB 2,000 per month (varies depending on personal circumstances).

3. Payments for bedding, medical exams, residence permits, insurance, and textbooks are not transferred directly to the university.

7. For applicants whose age is under 18 and parents are not resident in China, their parents must formally entrust a foreigner or Chinese resident in China as the guardian of the applicants and provide relevant entrusted materials.

8. If the applicant was originally a Chinese citizen but later joined a foreign nationality, he/she must provide (1) a certificate of withdrawal of Chinese nationality; (2) a certificate of cancellation of Chinese household registration; (3) a certificate of joining a foreign nationality; and (4) a record of entry and exit from the country during the period from April 30, 2021 to April 30, 2025.

9. For applicants who were born in a foreign country and have acquired foreign nationality, if both or one of the parents are Chinese citizens, the applicant must provide (1) the applicant's birth certificate; (2) proof of nationality of the applicant's parents (the Chinese citizen side); and (3) the applicant's entry and exit records between April 30, 2021 and April 30, 2025.

Application Procedure

1. Online Procedures

Access the online application system (http://apply.symc.cucas.cn/) to make your application.

2. Application Period: March 1, 2025 - Full quotas  

★ Online applicant photo format: color standard ID photo, ≤200 kb, jpg/jpeg/png format all accepted, pixel≥ 295 * 413.

3. Applicants must fill in real, correct and complete information online and upload application materials as required. The applicant will be responsible for all consequences and responsibilities. After the application is approved, a non-refundable registration fee of 800 yuan shall be paid and upload the remittance letter to the application system.

4. Admitted applicants will receive scanned admission letters via the application website or email.

5. Be officially admitted and pay the full first year tuition fee year to school account.

6. Students holding “Admission Notice letter” and “Visa application Form for Study in China”（JW202 form）issued by our school can apply for X1 visa to study in China at the People's Republic of China Embassy or Consulates.

7. The official start of school will be in October 2025, with the specific date to be announced later.

Medical Insurance

All international students in China must apply for medical insurance in accordance with the relevant regulations of the People’s Republic of China and the school. If the insurance is not purchased within the time limit, the school will not admit the applicants or cancel the enrollment qualification.

Accommodation

The dormitory for international students is designed as double-occupancy rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom. Inside the room, there are independent bathing facilities and air conditioners. Additionally, there are communal self-catering kitchens and coin-operated washing machines available.

Registration

1. Admitted applicants should register at the school within the specified time and complete the enrollment procedures according to the admission notice. Those who are unable to register on time for some reasons should submit an application for postponement of registration to the school in advance. It is deemed to have waived the admission qualification automatically if the applicants leave or leave overdue for more than two weeks (10 working days) except for some legitimate reasons such as force majeure.

2. After the enrollment, students must undergo a review of admission qualifications. If fraudulent or tampering with application materials is found during the application process, their admission qualifications will be cancelled. All responsibilities and consequences arising therefrom shall be borne by the applicant.

3. New students shall go through the formalities for confirmation of the Record of Physical Examination of Foreigners at the Chinese Department of Health and Quarantine or have a physical examination when they enter the school. International students who do not meet the health standards stipulated by the Chinese government shall be subject to the relevant provisions of the Regulations on the Administration and Admission of International Student from China Medical University. The entry-exit administration department or the school shall persuade them to withdraw or retain their admission qualifications according to laws and regulations, and the relevant expenses shall be borne by the students.
