Introduction of the School of International Education

The predecessor of the School of International Education (International Exchange Office) was the International Exchange Office established in 2002. In 2008, it was renamed the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, and the International Education Center was also established, co-located with the International Cooperation and Exchange Office. In 2012, it was renamed the School of International Education (International Exchange and Cooperation Office), which has three department level institutions: the Office (the Foreign Affairs Department & the Academic Affairs Department, the Admissions Department, and the Student Affairs Department.

The School of International Education (International Exchange and Cooperation Office) is the centralized management department of our university for implementing foreign-related policies, conducting international student education, international cooperation and exchange, and other foreign-related affairs. It is mainly responsible for the enrollment and management of international students, the development and introduction of foreign intelligence, and the management of foreign experts; responsible for establishing friendly and cooperative relationships with foreign universities; responsible for organizing and implementing major foreign affairs activities of the school, as well as receiving foreign visitors from the institution; Responsible for organizing and participating in the establishment, signing, implementation, and operation tracking management of cooperation projects and agreements between the school and foreign countries.

In terms of international exchanges and school-running, the school has carried out extensive international exchanges and cooperation, successively joined the "the Belt and Road" International Medical Education Alliance and the South and Southeast Asia Medical Education and Health Alliance, and signed cooperation agreements with about 26 internationally renowned universities and research institutions at home and abroad. More than 200 teacher-student visits have been conducted with Indiana Wesleyan University, University of Arizona, Sasebo City Government in Japan, and medical cooperation has been carried out with the Korea International Medical Culture Exchange Association. It also steadily promotes the order based training program for nurses going to Japan.

The school implements an international development strategy, with 2220 international students from 64 countries studying on campus and 58 receiving scholarships from foreign governments. The passing rate of the practicing physician examination for the consecutive ten years reached 73%. The international ranking of "soft science" has repeatedly ranked among the top six in the country, and the quality of teaching has been highly recognized by the origin country of foreign students. In 2004, with the approval of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education and filing with the Ministry of Education, the school became a training base for international students, and one of the first universities in Liaoning Province to recruit self-funded international students. In 2013, the school passed the Clinical Medicine Professional Certification of the Ministry of Education, and its teaching quality was internationally included in the World Medical Education List. At present, a total of 1542 international students have successfully graduated, with a passing rate of 73.2% for graduates returning to homeland to participate in the practicing physician examination. In 2021, our college was awarded the title of "exemplary organization of Liaoning Province for Studying Abroad in China", and in 2023, it was approved as "Pilot School for Evaluation of Internationalization Level of Colleges and Universities in Liaoning Province".
